Today, at last, I decide to seek my soul.
It has been hanging from the parapet,
a little below the Banyan tree
for long, now.
Today
it appears perfect
as there is an uncanny silence all around;
no rustling leaves
no whistling breeze
not even any distant chirping bird;
as if the universe waits in an animal quietude
before its birth from time's womb.
If only there hadn't been
this rushing gushing noisy stream of thoughts
that keep flowing loud and vigorous
from my mind!

Taking birth from time's womb, Loved it. If only, these thoughts leave us some silent time for introspection, true!
ah it can be so hard to find that place of peace in meditation when the mind is rushing here and there...i usually have to start by placing them one at a time to the side...
I love the thoughts that keep flowing from your mind Celest! Another delightful write :)
Love that your soul has been hanging in a tree, waiting for some attention:) I enjoyed this poem so much!
I'm with Rose. Keep it flowing!
love the word flow here,

Loved the concrete way you describe the location of your soul, and the sound of your thoughts! Very nice images. :)

Beautiful! I wish you peace always.
"as if the universe waits in an animal quietitude / before its birth from time's womb" >> powerful, brilliant words. keep writing!
Yes, serenity is still lost without peace of mind, and it happens more often than we can control it I guess!
BTW, what is a Bunyan tree? Is it Banyan itself, alternate spelling? :)

^ thanx a lot. I wish I could have said poetic license ... but alas I cant ... as it was nothing other than a plain and simple case of horrible spelling mistake ... :( ... rectified and edited as per your suggestion.
Serenity often gets lost with the amount of happening hither tither. But still, we have to find peace.This was an beautiful expression of this.
Liked it immensely!
hope that your sould find its home.
haunting imagery, well done,
Unfortunately there are so often external interferences when one strives to seek one's soul! I hear you.
What a lovely interview of you in Poets United today; and thank you SO much for mentioning my blog. I am humbled.
