MOONLIGHT AND DREAMZ

Welcome to my world of dreams where imagination and reality, fancy and truth, laughter and tears move hand in hand. I will let you have a glimpse at the share of my own sky, sometimes sunshine bright, and sometimes with rainstorm. I will take you to memories that are like a serene glow of moonlight, a whisper of mountain breeze, and a rushing gushing brook.

    New Year ...

    google image

    Last year
    I wished for
    frosted nails,
    a silver dawn,
    fiery red stilettos,
    a slim chiselled body,
    white flowers, and dreams
     drenched in the October rain.
I stacked them neatly in between
the layers of vibrant rainbow resolutions.

    Now
    those resolutions have turned gray,
    flowers have become rotten
and I am just the same
    with no slim body,
    no frosted nails,
    not even shoes,
    not a dream,
    nor a dawn,

    but
    Just this indigo blue butterfly
    Painted on my shoulder,
a shade deeper than the ocean,
    fluttering and flapping,
gazing at the deep blue sky,
    goading me to start
    all over again.

wishing all of you a happy new year, season's greetings with lots of love ...

one thing about the beginning of a year, it gives us REASON to begin again; and a fluttering butterfly is no small thing!!

    Happy New Year!
I suppose we grow by continually growing bored with last year's dreams and creating new ones.
You are already very beautiful, so please don't wish to change anything about yourself.
    Your loving Soul shines through:)

love the way you used the butterfly metaphor in this and also how you formatted the lines - the second stanza looks like an upside down tree which goes well visually with your words.

hi moon...i am sorry to copy so much...but you so amaze me, my friend. during this evening when my heart is tender (following the suicide of a friend) i read your words and even when you are left with this:

    "not even shoes,
    not a dream,
    nor a dawn,

    but
    Just this indigo blue butterfly
    Painted on my shoulder,
a shade deeper than the ocean,
    fluttering and flapping,
gazing at the deep blue sky,
    goading me to start
    all over again."

you offer the hope of the light touch of the indigo blue butterfly.

you offer the hope to "start all over again" when tonight i had lost it. thank you, my precious friend.

a great write here! the resolutions we make... and break (I often break mine no later than a few weeks after making them haha) but it's all part of the new year fallacy - I liked the layout of this poem too - expanding - the resolutions - contracting - then mixed - the possibilities - nice!

    C D,

Read 3 poems now. What you say in Living Life has been seen by me and that made me turn vegetarian in 1995. The one on Frogs is so real. Thanks for your wishes. We need to carry on regardless whether our wishes made on previous year end come true or not. You have a magical way with words.

    Take care
